Introduction To programming Level 1

This single unit qualification is designed for learners to learn about the principles of computer programming to understand how programming works. They will develop text-based programming skills to design and develop their own computer program.

1. Basic principles of Programming
- Describe the application of logic in programming
- Identify different programming languages
- State the main differences between graphic based and text based programming languages
2. Be able to design a simple computer program in response to a client brief
- outline programming requirements
- produce design documentation
3. Develop the programme using a graphic - based language
4. Be able to test, document and review the program

If you already have a good basis in programming this course is not for you. This is for learners that have never completed any programming before.
Would expect at least entry level 3 English - Enough to keep up with classes
Need to be confident using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Emails. (Would be good for anyone that has completed Level 1 Essential Digital Skills - but is not required)

There is no exam, a portfolio of evidence will be created to meet criteria set throughout the time on the course.
If all criteria is met then certificate will be awarded.

The course will be face to face every Friday - you must be able to attend.

Level 2 programming
Level 1/ 2 cyber security courses
Level 2 full time study program (September Starts)
Will provide the basis of programming languages and allow to develop skills further within coding.

Tuition Fee: £150.00

Assessment

All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

Financial

You may not have to pay tuition fees at all, if you fall into one of the groups eligible for fee exemptions. If you feel you may be eligible or would like someone to explain course fees in more detail, pleasecontact us via our Live Chat service available on any page of our website.

Adult Learners

Adult learners (19+) must provide evidence of their existing qualification at enrolment. Learners may not be able to enrol if this information is not provided when requested. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one applies to the exams you took):
