There's a lot more to to Barbering than I originally thought. I've learnt all about shaving as well as cutting hair, and we get to practice on real clients. I like the relaxed atmosphere at College, and the tutors are very experienced in the industry. It's a handy trade to train up in - everyone needs a Barber! Next I'd like to do an Apprenticeship and then save up to open my own barber shop.

I've really enjoyed my time here - I'd recommend it to anyone!
Beth Dixon, Hairdressing VRQ Level 3, 'Student of the Year' for Beauty & Hairdressing - studied at St James' C of E High School
I did my work experience in the make-up industry so wanted to study this when I left school. I’d heard good things about Bolton College so came to the Open Evening and decided that this was the place for me. Unlike school, we’re all treated as adults and the tutors are really approachable and give us lots of advice. I’m really happy that the programme has lived up to the expectations I had after the Taster Day – everything we did on the day, we’ve done on the programme.
Kendall Watt, Hair & Media Make-up Level 2 - studied at Mount St. Joseph School
I would recommend this programme because you learn so much. The tutors are really friendly and helpful. They motivate you and push you to reach your potential. This programme teaches you many things such as make-up, body art and headpieces, but I mostly enjoy the special effects – cuts, bruises, black eyes and broken noses. I want to work in TV and this programme has taught me everything I need to take the next step. Next year I am going to university to study Special Effects for Television.
