Adult & Family Learning has come to Farnworth Library!

Members of the public visited the library on Saturday 4th December for a launch event, after work taking place at the historic Carnegie library was completed; the library now includes a new adult community classroom, developed in partnership with Bolton College.
For the launch event, attendees enjoyed free cakes and refreshments, free craft packs, and information stalls from Job Centre Plus, Bolton at Home, Bolton's ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Provision Navigator, and more.

You can view all of the photos from the event here.

Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member with responsibility for Libraries, Councillor Hilary Fairclough, said: “We are excited about our new partnership with Bolton College in Farnworth.

"Having this dedicated adult community classroom provides us with a unique opportunity and will allow local people to tap into a range of different courses close to where they live and work.”

Bill Webster, Principal of Bolton College, said: “We already offer a broad range of courses at the College’s Community Learning Centre in New Bury, and I’m delighted that this partnership with the Council’s Library & Museum Service will allow us to expand our offer.

"Together, we can bring even more opportunities to the people of Farnworth, boosting educational attainment and giving local people the chance to step back into learning in an adult-centred supportive environment.”
