Education & Childcare

You will study a core curriculum of child development and how education works, plus important topics like safeguarding and special educational needs. You can then focus on one of these areas*:

 • Early Years Education & Childcare
 • Assisting Teaching
 • Supporting & Mentoring Students in Further & Higher Education

 

Develop the skills and knowledge needed for a rewarding career as an Early Years Practitioner or Primary School Teacher through this T Level qualification.

 

T Level study programmes will include the following elements:

 •  A ‘core’ set of underpinning knowledge, concepts and skills, tailored for their chosen industry and occupation: ‘core content’
 •  Specialist content covering occupational or industry-specific skills: ‘occupational specialist content’
 •  An industry placement with an employer, which will last for a minimum of 315 hours

Industry Placements

Every T Level will include an industry placement with an employer, focused on developing the practical and technical skills required for the occupation. These will last a minimum of 315 hours (approximately 45 days) but can last longer. Employers can offer industry placements as a block, day release or a mix of these, and can discuss sharing part of the placement with another employer if necessary.

Progression Pathways

After you have completed the course you could progress on to a higher education course at College or university, or explore the possibility of doing a Higher Apprenticeship (Level 4).

Following further study you could work as a:

 •  Nursery Manager, earning up to £30,000 per year
 •  Child & Early Years Officer, earning £25,000 per year
 •  Primary Teacher, earning £36,000 per year
