    Our Apprenticeship programme will give you vital experience, learning from real life situations with the guidance of industry professionals. Through this course you will gain the skills and confidence needed to excel in your chosen career.
    This Apprenticeship will enable you to gain the knowledge required to further your skills as a qualified hairdresser and to work as an employee within a hairdressing salon, this course is a great way to further your skills and gain a recognised level 3 qualification whilst also earning a salary.

    This a qualification designed for learners who are at least 18 years old and who wish to further their skills and knowledge needed to continue work as a Hairdresser. Learners wishing to complete these qualifications will be doing so as an employed apprentice in a real work environment, the qualification is 12 months.

  • What you'll learn

    The Apprenticeship consists of around 30 hours in a salon and one day in College per week.

    Mandatory units include:
    • Colour correction
    • Advance cutting/Restyling
    • Styling - Conventional and non conventional
    • Consultation

    You must create a full collection.

    You will be trained and assessed in theory and practical skills, with the majority of training taking place ‘on the job’.

    A full level 2 hairdressing qualification (preferably a standard).
    • A successful interview with a salon accepting a Level 3 Apprenticeship programme.
    • Minimum of level 4 GCSE's or equivalent in maths and English, assessed via a College in-house assessment (BKSB).

    You will also be required to attend College one day per week.

    Apprentices without Level 1 English and Maths will need to achieve this level and take the test for Level 2 English and maths prior to the end point assessment
  • How will I be assessed?

    You will be assessed throughout your learning programme by:
    • A mixture of formal tests
    • Workplace observations
    • Portfolio building
    • Self-assessment.

    All Learners will complete an Individual Learning Plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

  • Future opportunities

    On successful completion of this Apprenticeship following the qualification, you could work as:

    • A fully-trained Hairdresser where you could earn between £20,000 -£25,000 a year (depending on experience).
    • A Salon Manager, earning between £25,000- £30,000 a year.
    • A Self-employed hairdresser, that can potentially earn up to £45,000 a year.
