    Complementary Therapy has been a growing industry over the past 20 years and is recognised for its involvement in maintaining good health and helping individual with varied disorders and stresses of life.
    This course will provide you with knowledge of the principles of Aromatherapy and how you can use some oils within the home environment.
    You will be taught specific Aromatherapy massage techniques, the art of creative blending and practical uses for each of the oils. Looking at the different forms of distillation, contraindication and uses of application.

    This course combines lectures, workshops, and independent research. Further areas of development consist of the following:

    History of Aromatherapy
    Different forms of Distillation
    Contraindications and Contractions to essential oils
    How essential oils can be used
    Basic aromatherapy movements
  • Entry requirements

    You need to show good communication skills and life skills.
    A good general education is essential and a good level of English is required. You must be able to speak, read, write and understand English fluently.
  • How will I be assessed?

    Your assessment will be through written assignments and practical assessments.

    The Complementary industry has an accepted dress code and all students will be expected to comply with these standards of dress when working in the Salon and attending college.

    No jewellery or acrylic nails are allowed. Professional work wear will include a black tunic and full smart full-length black trousers and black full shoes.
    You will purchase the stationary and Aromatherapy kit.

    As part of your practical assessments, you will perform practical treatments on each other and clients. You will be expected to have a minimum of 90% attendance and all absences must be explained to your tutor with medical evidence if there is more than one week of absence.

    Coronavirus Update


    In response to the COVID-19 situation we have made a number of changes to our traditional admissions and enrolment processes.
    All conditional offers and enrolments are currently being processed based on the information available to us at the time of a telephone interview and/or online enrolment.
    Once a course starts and we are able to meet with learners in person we may need to alter the class an individual attends if they do not meet the course entry requirements. We will keep learners informed of any decision to alter their class and support them through any changes necessary.
    Thank you for your understanding and co-operation in these unprecedented times.

    Assessment


    All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

    Financial


    You may not have to pay tuition fees at all, if you fall into one of the groups eligible for fee exemptions. If you feel you may be eligible or would like someone to explain course fees in more detail, pleasecontact us via our Live Chat service available on any page of our website.

    Adult Learners


    Adult learners (19+) must provide evidence of their existing qualification at enrolment. Learners may not be able to enrol if this information is not provided when requested. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one applies to the exams you took):

    Studying at College

You must do the work set during directed study or it will impact your progress on the course and therefore your achievement.
