Digital Photography Level 2

  • Overview of the course

    This course is meant for those students who have already some knowledge of using a digital SLR and at least basic Photoshop. During this course you will be expected to participate during practical sessions including off-site trips in order to become more confident in applying your camera skills in a variety of situation and experiment with settings. You will work with the images you captured in Photoshop to improve them and apply styles. You will also look at composition and inspirational research to aid your progress. You need to collate your research into a written piece of work. You will collect a portfolio of evidence in order to complete a set of project briefs including own reflections and will be expected to complete a presentation portfolio of photographs for your final project.

  • Entry requirements

    • You will need your own digital camera (preferably SLR) and have knowledge of main camera settings.
    • Connecting USB lead or a card reader.
    • You will also need at least basic Photoshop skills and good level of general computing skills.
    • You will need a file and wallets to keep a portfolio of evidence and produce a presentation portfolio at the end of the course.
    • You will need a good level of English in order to complete written parts of the units eg. research and evaluations
    • Interview with tutors necessary
  • How will I be assessed?

    This a NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Photography course and all students are required to collect a portfolio of evidence throughout the year and submit work which covers 3 units of the qualification -
    Unit 1 Explore photographic equipment, techniques, materials and resources
    Unit 2 Develop and adapt photographic ideas
    Unit 10 Presenting a portfolio of photographic images
    Written and oral feedback will be given by the tutor throughout the year.

    Assessment


    All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

    Financial


    You may not have to pay tuition fees at all, if you fall into one of the groups eligible for fee exemptions. If you feel you may be eligible or would like someone to explain course fees in more detail, pleasecontact us via our Live Chat service available on any page of our website.

    Adult Learners


    Adult learners (19+) must provide evidence of their existing qualification at enrolment. Learners may not be able to enrol if this information is not provided when requested. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one applies to the exams you took):
