Floristry Certificate Level 2

  • Overview of the course

    The part-time course for 30 weeks is aimed at budding florists, hobbyists, flower arrangers and floral crafters who wish to obtain a Level 2 Creative Craft qualification in Floristry and learn floral techniques and floral design.

    If you have completed Floristry Level 1 or have an equivalent floral level of experience, this course will enable you to develop your skills and assist in creating your own floral style. The course provides training in floristry and is ideal if you work or are looking to work in a floristry shop.
  • What you'll learn

    The course covers floristry skills including hand tied bouquets, presentation gift wrapping, floral designs for all occasions, wedding and sympathy work.

    Within the practical element you will also cover: Health & Safety within the workroom, considerations when working to a brief or customer order, working to a budget and planning a themed design.
  • Entry requirements

    A NCFE Level 1 Certificate in Floristry or equivalent industrial or floral craft experience.
  • How will I be assessed?

    The assessment is based on the portfolio that you will produce week by week, and you will keep a log of your progress. You will be given feedback at regular stages and the finished portfolio will be assessed.
    There is no exam.
  • Is there anything else I need to know?

    Students will be expected to bring an apron.

    Weekly flowers and foliage's - average cost £5 - £10 per week.
    Students provide their own A4 folder with writing, drawing paper and pens and pencils.
    Access to a calculator and camera, a phone may be used.

    All sundries, wires, tapes, floral foam, containers etc will be provided as part of the course.
    Students are allocated £5.00 towards printing in college.

    On the first week please bring:
    Two carnations and two roses. A selection of dainty foliage's i.e. ivy or hebe.

    This will enable you to assemble wired buttonholes and gift wrap for presentation.

    All basic mechanics will be provided, wires, tapes, fastenings, cold glue and packaging.

    All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

    Adult learners (19+) must provide evidence of their existing qualification at enrolment. Learners may not be able to enrol if this information is not provided when requested. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one applies to the exams you took):
