Some people learn languages for pleasure and to expand cultural horizons, or to keep the mind healthy and active. For others, it's the first step to a career in translating, interpreting or teaching, or to improve employability and job prospects.
We offer courses in British Sign Language, Chinese, French, German, Italian and Spanish at a range of levels to suit you.
In the first year, you will learn enough to get by for holiday, family or work purposes. In subsequent years you will develop your language skills and cultural knowledge. In each year, you will have the option to take a national certificate.
All of our courses are taught by experienced tutors in a warm and welcoming classroom environment.
My husband and I thought learning Italian would be handy for holidays, so we both enrolled on the Italian for Beginners course. I love the teaching methods our tutor uses, she adapts her style to suit the different learners, as she recognises that we’re not all the same. I’ve now progressed on to the Italian Intermediate course, and I love the College, it’s accessible with everything on hand.

I have an excellent tutor and I like the style of teaching - actually getting involved and interacting with people is the best way to learn. I work as a technical sales engineer and in Germany the electronics industry is much larger than over here, so these skills could really benefit me in my job - particularly when I have to network at trade shows. I'm keen to move on to the next level.
