Searching and Applying for Employer Vacancies

Once you express an interest in an Apprenticeship with Bolton College we will be in touch to ensure you're applying for Apprenticeships that are right for you.

The next step is to then find an Apprenticeship.  Remember, with an Apprenticeship you're applying for a job as well as a college course.  This means that employers will interview you and make the decision to employ you. Competition can be fierce, so you will need to show them you're the right the candidate for the job, with a really strong CV and interview.

If you're not sure how to do this, Bolton College can support to you to write a CV and a covering letter, fill in an application form or prepare you for an interview.

What Entry Requirements Are There?

This changes depending on the Apprenticeship you want to apply for and your existing qualifications.

Many employers ask for GCSEs in Maths and English - if you do not hold these we can support you to gain the relevant level. In some instances we suggest this is part of the Apprenticeship programme and in others it might be that we recommend you develop these skills as part of a pre-Apprenticeship programme.

How Will I Be Assessed?

In the first instance you will complete an initial Assessment to assess your suitability. This is normally carried out before you start looking for employment. During the course you will be assessed continuously through observation, written tasks and the feedback received from your employer.  Some Apprenticeships have an 'end point assessment' which the college will support you to prepare for throughout your Apprenticeship.

How to Apply
