Who can enrol?

Adults (aged 19+) and young people (aged 16-18 years old) can enrol at Bolton College.

Adults can enrol at any of our College locations as long as your course doesn't require an interview at Deane Road (see www.boltoncollege.ac.uk/contact-us for hub details). Young people need to enrol at our Deane Road Campus.

Please check the times below before you enrol.

Young People's Enrolment Information:

If you haven't applied to study with us yet don't worry, we still have limited places available.  You can call into College on:

Monday 25 September, 9am - 1pm

Wednesday 27 September, 1pm - 4pm

Advisors will be on hand to talk about your options and help you choose the right course for you.

What do I need to bring with me to enrol?

Please bring your qualifications/results with you. If you have just taken your GCSE’s you can collect your results slip from your school. If you took your GCSEs this year and don’t bring your results with you, we won’t be able to complete your enrolment and you will need to return on another day.

What will happen when I arrive at College to enrol?

  • We'll look at your qualifications and take a copy.

  • If you need some information and advice about what courses we have available, our Student Services Team will have a chat with you.  Please pop in to our Student Services Centre (under the big TV).

  • If you don’t already have GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 / C or above, you’ll need to take an assessment.  Don’t worry about this; it’s to help us ensure you are put in the right class straight away.  Assessments are in Room AG29 on the ground floor.

  • You’ll talk to a Tutor in your chosen subject and they will either offer you a place on a course or refer you to another area they feel you would be more suited to.

  • Once you have been offered a place at College we’ll help you complete our enrolment paperwork and collect your ID card.

Financial Support

If your household income is £20,000 or under per year you can apply for financial support whilst at College (a travel pass and free College meals).  You will need to bring evidence of your household income / benefits (for example a benefits letter dated within the last 6 months, a tax credit notice dated since April 2017, 2 recent wage slips).

If you don’t have this information with you when you enrol, you can bring it in next time you are in College and our Student Finance Team will help you apply for support during the following times each day:

8.45am–9.30am / 12noon–1pm / 4pm–5pm in the Student Services Centre

Adult Enrolment Information:

You will need to either pay for your course (instalment plans are usually available if your chosen course costs more than £150*) or, provide the evidence (dated within 6 months of your enrolment date) of why you don't pay, when you enrol. We are unable to reserve places on any course without payment or seeing the required evidence.

Most courses marked with a £ in the brochure can be paid for online via www.ticketsource.co.uk/boltoncollege  If the course is marked with a £i you must have your interview before you make any payment.  If you pay online you will need to complete a College Enrolment Form during your first class and bring paper or electronic confirmation of your payment with you. Online payments are not possible if you wish to pay by installments.

For a lot of our courses, we will need to see your existing qualifications so please bring them with you to enrolment.  Please note that enrolment can take some time during peak periods and we would not advise anyone to pop down in their lunch break as you are likely to be with us for more than an hour.

*Some courses can not be paid by instalments.  Please check our course brochure or ask a member of staff for more information
