You will cover these areas:
Biology – Cells and tissues, Photosynthesis, Healthy living, Preventing illness and diseases.
Chemistry – Understanding the periodic table, Chemical reactions and Health and Safety in a classroom.
Physics - Our solar system, sustainability and how recycling works.

How Will I Be Assessed?
You will agree an individual learning plan (ILP) with your tutor identifying what you want and need to gain from the course. You will build up a folder of work which shows the range of skills and knowledge you have developed. You will receive supportive feedback throughout the course and track your progress through your Individual Learning Plan.

Future Opportunities
Level 1 BTEC Applied Science Diploma in Science. Progression pathways are available to university level.
A science qualification could lead to paid work, job opportunities or work in the NHS in a wide variety of settings, for example, a chemist, laboratory, opticians and hospitals.
