This course is meant for those students who would like to develop good basic Photoshop skills such as basic adjustments, retouching, selections etc. The course is meant both for designers who would like to work with text and graphic elements as well as photographers who would like to improve their photographs. It is meant to be a short introduction before joining the accredited follow on Level 1 course.

What You'll Learn
You will cover these areas
• adjusting colour and brightness of images
• using a variety of Photoshop tools
• application of filters and effects
• retouching techniques - eg. removing blemishes
• combining images - eg. replacing backgrounds
How Will I Be Assessed?
You will agree an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) with your tutor identifying what you want and need to gain from the course. You will build up a folder of work which shows the range of skills and knowledge you have developed. You will receive supportive feedback throughout the course and track your progress through your Individual Learning Plan.
Entry Requirements
You will need good general computer skills - file management etc.
For this course ideally, you will need to be able to access Photoshop at home. Be prepared to practice the skills you acquire in class at home. Imagination and application of skills will ensure success. You will be encouraged to bring your own images on a memory stick but stock images are also available to practice with. Interview with tutor necessary.
