What You'll Learn
You will gain knowledge of good hygiene practices and safe working methods within a cake decorating environment.
The course will also cover:
- Cake decorating tools and equipment
- Coating & decorating a Christmas cake
- Marzipan & sugarpaste techniques
- Decorating a festive yule log
- Basic 3D Christmas cake modelling
- Basic Christmas character modelling
- Royal iced biscuits
- Festive truffles
Please note this course does not include any baking, and you will be required to bring in pre-bought or homemade cakes and biscuits ready for decorating.

How Will I Be Assessed?
There is no formal assessment on this course. You will agree an individual learning plan (ILP) with your tutor identifying what you want and need to gain from the course. You will receive supported feedback and guidance from your tutor and track your progress in you Individual Learning Plan.
Entry Requirements
No previous experience is necessary, just an interest in cake decorating and a willingness to learn new skills.

- Learners are expected to provide their own materials & equipment.
- Learners will be given a list at the start of the course.
- As it is intended that the items produced on the course are for eating, learners are expected to wear an apron, have appropriate flat, closed footwear and have long hair tied back.
