- In your first year: Information Technology Systems and Creating Systems to Manage information will be assessed through an exam that is externally marked.

- In your second year: Cyber Security & Incident Management and IT service delivery will be assessed though an exam that is externally marked.

All other units are assessed throughout the year through set assignments that are marked by your tutor.

Work will be graded at a Pass, Merit of Distinction level.
You must at least Pass all units of your course to achieve the full qualification.

    Students seeking a work placement can visit the Job Shop to meet with a work placement officer who will help and advise them on how to source a work placement to complement their study programme or T Level.

    Apprenticeships are open to all ages and are all about real work, in a real company, training to get the skills companies really want – with a guaranteed salary!

    If you’d like to become an apprentice, you can visit our Job Shop to meet with an Employer Engagement Advisor and receive tailored support and advice on how to apply for vacancies.

    Alternatively, you can view our Apprenticeship online to discover the range of Apprenticeships we offer, from Business to Teaching.

    Bolton College is proud to work with a variety of businesses and organisations throughout Bolton and the North West, and we welcome these stakeholders to share our Job Shop space.

    Stakeholders that provide job seeking support and careers advice and guidance can book a regular space in the Job Shop to meet with visitors. These visitors will then be able to enquire about the career and job-seeking activities these stakeholders offer.

    Bolton College Job Shop isn’t just for Bolton College’s students – it’s for members of the public too!

    Anyone can visit the Job Shop if they need help with updating their CV; careers advice and guidance; or tailored support in identifying industries they wish to work in.

    Enrolment & Attendance Certificate

    If you are a student wishing to apply for an Enrolment & Attendance Certificate to help with your claim for a Council Tax discount or, you are a parent/carer needing a Certificate to help with your claim for Child or Housing Benefit please complete the form below.

    All Certificates will be emailed directly to the relevant Council department. You must provide us with the correct email address for the Council department asking for the information. If you are a learner aged over 18, we may need to contact your Tutor regarding the number of hours you study.

    Please note: the details on the form below must match the information we have on your learner (or child’s learner) record. If it does not, we may be unable to produce a Certificate. However, we will contact you if this happens. We cannot produce Certificates until you/your child has been attending classes for at least 4 consecutive weeks.

    ‘Where employers meet talent’

    Bolton College Job Shop is a resource for employers to share vacancies they are currently recruiting for. Vacancies are displayed on the College’s vacancies pages as well as on the interactive screens located in the heart of our Job Shop, access by our students and members of the public.

    Applicants interested in any of the vacancies will be able to apply using the Job Shop’s computers. Vacancies will also be shared with Bolton College’s talent pool – students who have already expressed an interest in a vacancy and are seeking work.

    Employers can also liaise with the Job Shop’s Employer Engagement Advisors to identify gaps in their recruitment and/or workforce. Working together, learning opportunities will be identified from the College’s course offer, thereby addressing and helping to close any skills gaps.
