What You'll Learn
In this course, learners will explore creativity, wellbeing, and environmental awareness through a range of hands-on craft activities using recycled materials. They will create and decorate a talking stick, learning about its purpose in supporting respectful communication and using it to take part in group discussions. Learners will also discover the benefits of caring for wildlife and listening to birdsong, take part in mindfulness activities, and decorate a bird box to provide a safe home for birds. As part of the course, they will make a seasonal ornament from recycled materials to give to a friend or family member, while exploring the positive impact that kindness and giving can have on wellbeing. Throughout the programme, learners will develop confidence, creativity, communication skills, and an appreciation of sustainability and nature.
How Will I Be Assessed?
You will agree an individual learning plan with your tutor identifying what you want and need to gain from the course. You will build up a folder of work which shows the range of skills and knowledge you have developed. You will receive supportive feedback throughout the course and track your progress through your online Individual Learning Plan.
Entry Requirements
Entry requirements: To join the course, you MUST be 19. Regular attendance and a basic level of English skills are also required of all learners.
