Overview
This course will be based at Deane Road and is aimed at learners who feel that they may struggle to engage with education due to confidence or mental health needs. The aim of the course is to build learners confidence to engage in education and develop skills needed for life and work.
What You'll Learn
The curriculum will focus on building confidence, self-esteem and motivation through a creative curriculum including creative and enterprise projects as well as developing employability skills.
Maths and English is included as part of the programme, as well as enrichment, work experience either external or via youth social action projects and a weekly tutorial with their learning and development mentor. (There will be a 10 week introductory trial at the start of the programme).

How Will I Be Assessed?
You will agree an individual learning plan (ILP) with your tutor identifying what you want and need to gain from the course. You will build up a portfolio of evidence which shows the range of skills and knowledge you have developed. You will receive supportive feedback throughout the course and track your progress through your Individual Learning Plan.
Assessment is on-going throughout the course and learners will receive prompt detailed feedback from tutors on work completed. Learners will work towards end of year exams in maths and English.
