Level 2 Award in Understanding Stewarding at Spectator Events

  • Overview of the course

    This qualification is designed for anyone considering a career in stewarding at spectator events. It is also suitable for anyone already working in the industry on a voluntary, part-time or casual basis who wishes to formalise and further develop his or her existing experience and skills.

    While completing this qualification, learners may develop the knowledge, understanding and essential skills employers look for in employees. These range from familiar ‘key skills’ such as team working, independent learning and problem solving, to more tricky-to-measure skills such as:
     an appreciation for appropriate behaviour and dress
     appropriate interpersonal skills
     communicating with professional colleagues/peers and/or hierarchical seniors
     supporting other aspiring employees
     personal manners and deportment
     understanding work practices and how different roles and departments function within an organisation.
  • What you'll learn

    The objectives of this qualification are to:
     provide an introduction to the role of a steward at spectator events
     develop the knowledge and understanding of key concepts which underpin spectator control
     provide progression towards National Occupational Standards, specifically the NVQ in Spectator Safety at Level 2.

    There are no entry requirements for this course but you maybe required to undertake an informal discussion with your tutor prior to starting the course to check suitability.
  • How will I be assessed?

    You will be assessed in a variety of ways which will culminate in a portfolio of evidence.
    Evidence could include:
     assignments
     projects
     reports
     lists
     centre-devised worksheets/workbooks
     oral and or written questioning
     professional discussions.

    Coronavirus Update


    In response to the COVID-19 situation we have made a number of changes to our traditional admissions and enrolment processes.
    All conditional offers and enrolments are currently being processed based on the information available to us at the time of a telephone interview and/or online enrolment.
    Once a course starts and we are able to meet with learners in person we may need to alter the class an individual attends if they do not meet the course entry requirements. We will keep learners informed of any decision to alter their class and support them through any changes necessary.

    Assessment


    All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

    Financial


    You may not have to pay tuition fees at all, if you fall into one of the groups eligible for fee exemptions. If you feel you may be eligible or would like someone to explain course fees in more detail, pleasecontact us via our Live Chat service available on any page of our website.

    Adult Learners


    Adult learners (19+) must provide evidence of their existing qualification at enrolment. Learners may not be able to enrol if this information is not provided when requested. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one applies to the exams you took):
