Student Liaison Officer (SLO)
The SLO is will be available one lunch-time per week at Horwich Centre and at Manchester Road, the SLO will be available for one to one discussions with students.

Discussion can be about any topic – you decide. You may be worried about an issue at home, experiencing a housing problem, have an issue with drinking too much or taking drugs; you might want to get involved more in College activities or you may need advice on sexual health issues. Watch for details of where and when Student Drop Ins are to be held and you’re welcome to drop in!

The Learner Voice
Here at Bolton Community College, there are plenty of opportunities to have your say about your course and the College in general. You’ll be asked to take part in Focus Groups on specific issues and to complete surveys on what you think about all aspects of College life.

We want your honest feedback and we want ideas on how to improve things for you. You might want to become a course representative, a member of the College Forum where you meet with the College Management Team or perhaps become a Student Governor - where you can act as a voice for students’ opinions on issues relating to College. We’ll make sure you’re fully supported to make a good contribution.

Interested? Then please call, 01204 907493 and speak to the SLO.

Enrichment

College isn’t all about study – there is also time and opportunities for sport, social events, trips and competitions. These activities are organised by your course tutors, personal tutors and the Student Liaison Officer based in the Guidance Centre at Manchester Road.

If you have some ideas about the kind of enrichment activities you would like to see at the College, if you would like to organise an event with some friends or if you would like to take part in some activities,  then please call, 01204 907493 and speak to the SLO.

Counselling Services
If you have a personal issue or worries about your studies, speaking with a Counsellor gives you the opportunity to talk things through privately with someone who will listen to you without making judgements.

College Counsellors are friendly people experienced in helping people with problems they might be facing. To access the Counselling Service call into Student Services in The Guidance Centre, Manchester Road Centre, or speak with the Counsellor directly on 01204 907320.
