Our Learning Facilities
You won't find any shortage of great learning facilities at Bolton Community College, take a look below at some of the great ways to assit your learning.
In fact we're constantly providing our learners with new and imporved technology as we understand how important it is to your learning expereince. In fact you can view the future for yourself in one of our Concept Rooms at Manchester Road (Board Room) and Horwich (Room 1.7) Centres to see one of the proposed classrooms for the new campus coming 2010.
Libraries & Learning Resource Centre (LRC)
Bolton Community College offers libraries at three of its main sites, Manchester Road, Howrich and Westhoughton and any student enrolled with us is welcome to use them. All you’ll need is your college ID card to join the library and you’re free to borrow books, use the computers and access reprographic services.
As with most libraries a range of reference books, periodicals and assignment files are available to borrow. Also available on each site are computers, which can be used to access software for assignments, e-mailing or the Internet as a research tool. Other facilities included within the libraries are laminating and comb binding, printing, photocopying and scanning.
The Manchester Road site has a quiet study room and audio-visual room, which can be booked by students for group work and discussions.
Each library is staffed by friendly and helpful members of staff who are on hand to help you find any resources you may need and will help you access resources that you may not be familiar with.

Technology
Here at Bolton Community College we recognise the need to keep up with technology to keep the edge sharp on your learning experience. That’s why our Art & Design department is equipped with iMac’s and Adobe Creative Suite 3 software for our Design, Multi-Media and Photoshop students. Libraries and classes are also fitted with interactive whiteboards.
Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
We are also able to offer you the chance to learn at home as well as college through the virtual learning environment (VLE). This range of multi media experiences will transform the way you learn.
