Plastering
Plastering Apprentices enjoy an ideal learning environment in our new spacious state of the art facility. This enables you to benefit from studying in modern classrooms and large purpose built workshops where you can acquire the skills and training necessary to stand out in your job.
Our facilities also boast interactive whiteboards, learning resource centres fitted with networked computers and social areas for you to enjoy a bite to eat and drink between studies.
Courses for apprenticeships are usually delivered on a day-release basis that means you spend one day per week learning the knowledge that underpins your Apprenticeship and the rest of your working week with your employer.
Our qualified assessors visit you in your workplace helping you develop a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your competence in your job.
The recent introduction of our e-portfolio will help you capture your evidence from industry and import it into your portfolio which can be sent electronically to your College assessor.
Part of your day will include portfolio building sessions in which you meet your assessor to discuss the development of your portfolio and the evidence you have collected. During the session, you will also generate an action plan to help you to complete your portfolio.
Plastering Apprentices study numerous skills and techniques including:
- Health & Safety
- Care use and maintenance of plastering tools
- Knowledge of plastering tasks
- Reading construction drawing and plans
