Studying an Apprenticeship in Health & Social Care at Bolton College allows you to gain a recognised qualification and develop employment skills while you earn. Most of your training is delivered on the job and you'll be paid a minimum wage. You attend college for a couple of hours each week to acquire key skills and training in communication, numeracy and ICT.
Every Apprenticeship is different because it is tailored to your daily tasks and duties. A Health & Social Care Apprenticeship might concentrate on skills including:
- Supporting doctors or nurses
- Helping patients in hospital wards or their homes
- Serving food
- Making and changing beds
Health & Social Care training teaches you practical skills such as the correct way to lift patients, and helps you develop the organisational skills needed for duties such as arranging transport or planning meals.
We offer both Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships so you can choose the level of training most appropriate to your needs.

You'll study at our Deane Road Campus in Bolton town centre, which is easily accessible from surrounding areas such as Manchester and Lancashire – so wherever your work is based you can still take advantage of studying a Health and Social Care course with state of the art facilities at Bolton College.
