Painting & Decorating
Painting and Decorating courses at Bolton College provide first class settings for learning in our new, state-of-the-art facility. This means you benefit from modern, spacious classrooms and large purpose-built training workshops where you acquire all the skills necessary for a rewarding career in Painting & Decorating.
Our facilities also include interactive whiteboards, learning resource centres equipped with fully networked computers and social areas where students take a break and enjoy a bite to eat between studies.
As a student on our Painting & Decorating training course you study wide-ranging skills and techniques including:
- Basic preparation
- Health & safety
- Paints and wallpaper
- Solvent and water-based paint
- Brush and roller application
- Basic decorative effects
- HVLP spraying
- Care and maintenance of tools and equipment
- Handling and storage of materials and equipment
- Safe use of basic access equipment
Fully qualified and experienced teaching staff deliver the learner-focused programme. They are fully supported by regular guest speakers and trade professionals who bring a wealth of real-life industrial experience to the course.
Courses commence at Entry Level 3 and learners can choose to progress through to Level 3 on the vocational pathway and continue beyond in the professional / technical capacity onto a Level 5.
As the course is vocational, the skills and knowledge you learn will readily equip you to pursue a career as a Painter and Decorator.
All our Painting and Decorating courses are taught at our Deane Road Campus in the heart of Bolton town centre. The campus is conveniently located for students travelling from Manchester and Lancashire.
