Brickwork

Construction is one of the biggest and most rewarding industries in the world, making a huge difference to the way we live and the environment in which we live. There are a multitude of options to become a skilled trades person while working on projects in a team or as an individual.

We offer a range of these key trades, whether you are an Apprentice who is just starting out or studying a full-time pathway in Construction who wants a trade background to boost your job prospects.
You can specialise in a particular trade such as:

  • Construction & the Built Environment
  • Brickwork
  • Carpentry & Joinery
  • Electrical
  • Painting & Decorating
  • Plastering
  • Plumbing
  • Roofing, Manufacturing & Warehousing

All courses have a large amount of practical activity associated with them and are backed up with the underpinning knowledge through structured theory sessions. Health & Safety is a key element of learning and personal protective equipment is required to be worn at all times during practical sessions.

Courses start at entry level, depending on which route is best suited for you, and our highly experienced staff will advise you on the best course that meets your needs. Each course is designed to offer you the chance to progress on to higher levels of learning and you can work up to and including Level 3 in a particular trade and progress further on to Professional Building programmes such as a HNC (Higher National Certificate) or a HND (Higher National Diploma) in our University Centre based at our Deane Road Campus.
