Applied Science (Forensic Science)

The BTEC Diploma Applied Science (Forensic Science) offers students the opportunity to explore the procedures that underpin scientific theory and lays the groundwork for further study or progression to employment in:

• Medical Science 
• Forensic Science

Core units, covering fundamental scientific principles and practical techniques, are the basis of the Diploma. Optional units in physiology, genetics, microbiological techniques, criminal psychology and criminal investigation procedures are also available.

This course prepares students for careers in a broad array of areas in the science sector, including:

• Crime Scene Investigator
• Anatomical Pathology Technician
• Medical Photographer
• Forensic Scientist

The course offered is a BTEC Extended Diploma in Applied Science (Forensic Science) at Level 3. Completion of the training will enable you to access a degree. Alternatively, you could progress on to an HND or degree programme in subjects such as Biomedical Science, Nutrition & Health, Microbiology or Forensic Science.
