Our courses provide specialist Foundation Learning for school leavers who have particular learning needs.

You’ll be supported every step of the way and will have the opportunity to progress, while gaining a new set of workplace skills that will enable you to face life with confidence.

Students can take a living independently route, employability route, or a combination of both.

Your studies will help you to gain practical, personal and social development skills and all employability courses involve a work placement.

As part of your course, you will also study, English, Maths and ICT, and these topics will be taught using practical, hands-on methods.

In addition, if you choose to specialise in Retail, you will gain realistic experience by helping to run the college shop. Similarly, if you choose our Catering route, you will prepare and serve food for our college cafe.

We offer courses at many levels:

  • Moving Forward into College (one year);
  • Independent Living, Expressing and Growing at College Entry Level 1 & 2 (one year);
  • Independent Living, Tasting the Vocational Life and Becoming More Independent Entry Level 1/2 (one year);
  • Employability Skills, Vocational, Personal & Social Development and Functional Skills Entry Level 2 (one year);
  • Preparing For Work – Vocational, Personal & Social Development and Functional Skills Entry Level 3/Level 1 (one year)

You can start with us at Entry Level and continue right up to Level 1. Where you step off into a career is up to you. We’ll give you plenty of advice along the way and support you through a range of choices that will allow you to pursue your academic and career aspirations as far as you want to go.
