Preparation Pathways
Our Preparation Pathways courses are a lifeline for young people who want to improve their education and training, but who haven’t got the literacy and numeracy skills they need to move forward.
We offer learners the opportunity to improve their understanding of English, Maths and ICT. At the same time, you will sample vocational subjects to prepare you to move onto the next level course in college, or go directly into a job.
Our Prep 4 College: Choices Entry Level course runs for a year and includes Maths, English, ICT and Personal & Vocational Skills development. You’ll also get the chance to sample a range of vocational areas such as Construction, Hair & Beauty, Business & Administration, Art & Media, Sport, Motor Vehicle and Catering.
The Prep 4 Work: Employment Pathway course features flexible entry and exit points throughout the year. This is an entry 3 / Level 1 course, offering Maths, English, ICT and personal skills development with a focus on the world of work. Work experience is included as an option to enable learners to develop the practical knowledge, skills and confidence to pursue paid or voluntary employment.
We help you to make informed choices, improve your future training opportunities and have some fun along the way.
We support our programmes by ensuring students are in smaller groups, receive additional support, and benefit from a wraparound tutorial programme.
All our courses are taught at our Deane Road Campus in the heart of Bolton town centre. The Campus is conveniently located for students travelling from Manchester and Lancashire.
