Our Diploma courses provide excellent opportunities to become part of the exciting and creative world of Hairdressing and Barbering.

Diplomas help you prepare for working life, build your confidence and provide skills and support that will help you progress to further education, an Apprenticeship, or other work.

You will gain valuable National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) that enable you to go as far as your talent and ambition can take you.

Our purpose-built Academies, in Bolton and Farnworth are superbly equipped, with state-of-the-art training and commercial salons.  Our Deane Road Academy is a ‘Wella Professional’ Centre of Excellence - an accreditation only awarded to institutions that are achieving the highest standards of training and demonstrating excellent links with industry.

The combination of innovative and engaging assessment activities, highly trained and experienced tutors, who include salon owners, Wella Colour Masters, and authors of hairdressing books, will guide you through the theory and practical skills needed for your City and Guilds qualification.

While participating in a wide selection of topics, you will receive top quality training in skills which may include:

• Shampooing and conditioning
• Cutting hair
• Colouring and perming hair
• Cutting facial hair
• Health and Safety
• Client care and communication

Additional activities include: guest stylists and speakers, opportunities to enter hair competitions, attendance at trade shows and exhibitions, participation in specialist courses, laptop loans, three Learning Resource Centres including an Apple Mac studio, plus three refreshment and eating venues

Bolton College is at the forefront of hairdressing training in the North West. Our Deane Road Hairdressing Academy is in the centre of Bolton and is conveniently placed when travelling from Greater Manchester and Lancashire.
