Curriculum Areas
Bolton Community College currently offers a range of higher education courses through our partnerships with regional universities and the ‘Progression Accord’ signed with the University of Bolton.
We currently offer Higher Education provision in the following areas, which can be studied at various levels, such as Foundation Degree and Higher National Programmes.
Teacher Training
If you wish to teach in the post-schools sector we offer the DTTLS programme (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector) both full and part time. We also deliver a short introductory teaching course PTTLS (Preparing to teach in the life long learning sector) at level 3. Schools Teaching Assistants
If you want to work or currently work in schools, but want to take the next step in your career, we offer a range of courses at level 2 and 3 together with the Foundation Degree for Teaching Assistants (Primary). This 'Primary' teaching course is validated by The University of Bolton and managed and taught by Bolton College staff. Foundation Degree in Early Years Childhood Studies
This course is jointly delivered by Bolton University and Bolton Community College. The course is for experienced practitioners working in an early years setting, who wish to further their skills and widen their job opportunities and possibly take on the role of lead practitioner for early years practice within their setting.
Business and IT
Interested in a career within Business and IT? Our higher education course in this fast paced and exciting field are ideal if you are looking for a career within the business world or starting up your own business.
Professional Building
Bolton Community now offers higher level certificates in Construction courses. These higher level qualifications are ideal if you want a career in Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Property Management or Civil Engineering.
