We have a number of ways we can help students who are struggling financially including discretionary bursaries and travel passes.

 

Guaranteed Bursaries are available to young people who are:

  • Aged between16-18 on the 31st August
  • Studying a college course at Level 3 or lower
  • On a course within the current college year?

and who are one of the following:

  • In care or a care leaver
  • In receipt of Income Support or Universal Credit
  • In receipt of both Employment Support Allowance
  • Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence payments

Learners will receive up to £1,200, paid in weekly instalments throughout their 36 week course. Payments are based on a good attendance record at College.

Discretionary Bursaries are available to young people who are:

  • Aged 16-18 on the 31st August 2015
  • Studying a college course at Level 3 or lower
  • On a course within the current college year?

and who:

  • are struggling to meet the costs of attending college
  • come from a home which has a combined annual gross income of under £25,000 

Qualifying students receive assistance with travel costs if they live more than two kilometres away from College, essential equipment costs, and payments in emergency circumstances.
