Apprentices gain the skills, knowledge and competence they need to succeed in their chosen career, backed-up by qualifications that are recognised by other employers.
With an Apprenticeship you’ll gain:
- Hands-on work experience and training leading to job-specific skills
- The ability to earn a salary and get paid holidays
- A minimum weekly wage from your employer
- National Vocational Qualifications, plus key skills or functional skills
- The opportunity to progress to a higher level of training with qualifications up to NVQ Level 4
- Options of progressing to a university Foundation Degree from an Advanced Apprenticeship

What Do I Get Out of It?
As an apprentice, you’ll start work and earn money at the same time as learning the skills and gaining the qualifications that employers want. It really is the best of both worlds. Research shows that apprentices earn, on average, over £100,000 more throughout their lifetime than other employees. And your learning doesn’t have to stop with the higher Apprenticeship; if you want to go on to Higher Education, you’ll find many universities will value your skills and knowledge and will happily offer you a place on a Foundation Degree or other higher level courses.
