College Life

There are lots of opportunities for your son or daughter to get involved with College life outside lessons.

We offer a wide range of enrichment activities – these may be sports, cultural activities, visits, trips, exhibitions, competitions and themed events.

Learners are also encouraged to tell us about ways we can improve the College and make it even better for them through the Learner Voice. They can become Class Representatives, College Forum Representatives or even College Governors – great experience and very valuable for their CVs!

We would be pleased if you could encourage your son or daughter to take part in as many activities as they can, so that during their time with us we can help them develop their personal and social skills, as well as gaining their qualification.

Facilities for Food
During breaks, learners can benefit from our catering facilities, including the refectory, bakery and café, and our proximity to town centre services.

Trips and Visits
We take your son or daughter’s safety very seriously and will ensure that trips and visits are appropriately conducted . This will require your support in signing a consent form for all College organised events.

Workload outside of class
All courses include work outside of the classroom. Your son or daughter is expected to take responsibility for their learning and complete any homework within set deadlines.

During non-contact time, there are ample opportunities for self-guided study. The library is open every day and includes the latest learning resources. There are also various other open access computing areas and the Learner Resource Centre.

Key College Policies & Procedures
