Childcare

The College provides Ofsted registered childcare at 3 Centres (Manchester Road, Deane & Derby and Westhoughton) for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.

There is a charge for using the College childcare facilities but you may be entitled to receive help towards these costs. If you are aged 16 –19, you are eligible to apply for Care to Learn Funding to meet childcare costs.

If you are aged 20 or over, you may be eligible for the Free Childcare for Training and Learning for Work Scheme to meet childcare costs.

Ask the Nursery Manager at the Centre where you wish to place your child or the Childcare Manager at the Guidance Centre, for details.

If you do not qualify for childcare support from the above schemes and you are in receipt of an income based benefit or are on a low wage, the College may be able to help with some costs towards your childcare. To apply for this, complete a Childcare Learner Support Fund Application Form (Completion of this Form does not guarantee assistance).

Students already attending College courses, must remember to re-apply and re-enrol their child for the next academic year and also
re-apply for Learner Support Funding.

The hours, sessions and costs at College childcare centres vary and you should contact the Centre you wish to use for more details.

For further information about childcare, contact the Childcare Manager in the Guidance Centre at Manchester Road 01204 907327 or contact the Nursery Manager at the Centre where you wish to place your child.
