Bolton Community College apprentice celebrates an award winning year

AN Apprentice from Bolton Community College has been celebrating after being highly commended at the National Apprenticeship Awards.

Hairdressing apprentice Jignesh ‘Jiggy’ Madhavji, aged 23, from Bolton, attended the prestigious awards ceremony at Old Billingsgate London, where he was nominated for the Apprentice of the Year award.

Although Jignesh missed out on the top spot, he was “highly commended” having beaten off thousands of apprentices to secure a place at the awards ceremony.

The talented apprentice has already scooped a number of accolades since the start of the year including; the LSC North West Apprentice of the Year at the North West Learner Awards, Aimhigher Apprentice Achiever Award and second place in the Clipper Crazy Imaging’ category at the National Hairdressing Federation Championship in Blackpool.

Carl Messenger, Director of Business Development and Training Services, said: “The College is one of the top performing Colleges in the North West, when it comes to Apprenticeships.

“Jignesh is a highly talented individual who has his sights set high on a successful career. His success is a result of sheer hard work, determination and talent. He is a credit to his tutors who have supported him throughout his course. On behalf of everyone at the College, I would like to congratulate Jignesh on his award winning year.”
