Young People's Enrolment

We are delighted that you will be joining us in September. We are confident that the course or Apprenticeship you have chosen will provide you with the skills and qualifications you need to eventually gain employment.

We are proud of the support we offer our learners so if you need extra help, don't be afraid to ask your tutor.

The information below is all about what you need to do to complete your enrolment.

  • Who can enrol?

    more less

Young people need to enrol at our Deane Road campus. If you are still at school, please check your enrolment date and times here before you enrol.

Anyone aged 17+ and not awaiting exam results can enrol now. Click here for enrolment times.

  • What do I need to bring with me to enrol?

    more less

You will need to bring your exam results to enrol. If you have just taken your GCSE’s you can collect your results slip from your school. If you have taken GCSEs and don’t bring your results with you, we won’t be able to complete your enrolment and you will need to return on another day.

  • What will happen when I arrive at College to enrol

    more less

    Whilst each person will have a slightly different enrolment experience, everyone will need to;

    • Meet with a tutor to complete a Study Programme Form

    • Visit our Maths & English team to discuss how you will continue to develop these vital skills

    • Sit with an Enrolment Officer to get your results copied and collect your College ID

  • Anything else I may need to do before I enrol?

    more less

If you haven’t already taken an Initial Assessment (BKSB) you will need to do this during enrolment time, this assessment can take quite a long time to complete so we would encourage you to take this assessment before the end of July. To book your assessment before the end of July, please visit www.bookwhen.com/initialassessments

All students have to sit this assessment. It’s nothing to worry about and it won’t stop you from getting onto the course you want. The assessment just helps us to decide if you will require any extra support.

  • How long will my enrolment take?

    more less

The college will be very busy during enrolment. If you arrive at the right time we’ll work hard to get you enrolled within two hours, but it could take longer.

If you need to sit the initial assessment, please allow at least an extra 1.5 hours to complete your enrolment (see question above for how you can sit your assessment before you enrol).

  • When will my course start?

    more less

Our term starts on Monday 10th September and your classes will start during this week. We will confirm your timetable once you have completed your enrolment.

  • Anything else to do between now and enrolling?

    more less

Firstly complete your exams to the best of your ability, and then give yourself a well-deserved break!

If you have been offered a place at College you should have already received your invite to attend our New Student Day on Thursday 12th July. This event will allow you to get to know the building and the staff at Bolton College before your course starts. We’ve also organised lots of fun activities and a free lunch!

If you haven’t received your invite please give us a quick call on 01204 482 155 or 01204 482 000 and we will reserve you a place.

If you haven't already booked your place, please click here - you will need your college ID number from your offer email.

  • Who can I talk to about financial support?

    more less

Want to know more about the College Bursary Scheme? Click here to find out more.

If you meet the criteria specified please call our Student Services Centre on 01204 482 182 to request a 16-18 Student Financial Support Application Form. Forms will be sent out in August.

Alternatively, you can pop into our Deane Road Campus and collect a form after 6th August.

  • Who do I talk to about my support needs?

    more less

If you have a learning difficulty or disability and haven’t already told the College it is really important that you tell us as soon as possible.

Telling us early will give us time to talk to you about your needs and get them in place ready for your first class. You, or your parent/carer, can give our Learning Support Team a call on 01204 482 669 or 01204 482 670.
